Gov’t Reassures Ghanaians Of Its Readiness For Coronavirus Cases

Coronavirus: Covid-19

The Ministry of Health has reassured Ghanaians of the government’s preparations in terms of emergency preparedness response and surveillance for the coronavirus. According to the Health Ministry, the emergency preparedness response and surveillance have been heightened and proven to be effective and efficient for any coronavirus case.

The assurance from the government comes after it allocated GHC2.5 million to respond to the outbreak of coronavirus.

Fifteen suspected cases have been recorded so far in the country. Samples of the cases that were taken to the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research for tests have provided negative results.

“We further wish to reassure the nation that our preparations in terms of emergency preparedness response and surveillance have been heightened and proven to be effective and efficient.”

The Health Ministry went on to assure Ghanaians, especially parents and relatives of Ghanaians and in particular Ghanaians in Wuhan City and the entire Hubei Province that “our citizens are in good hands and are being taken care of.”

“The Ghana Embassy in China is in engagement with them and have been constantly updating us of events,” the statement added.
