When we think about being single on Valentine’s Day, we often treat it like it is something to be sad about.
But why? It’s just one day of the year that glamorizes being in a relationship!
Valentine’s Day at its essence is all about celebrating love, and truth be told, you don’t need to be in a relationship to do that.
So no need to feel down or jealous of your roomies and other friends who are taken this year for Valentine’s Day, because you can enjoy the day while being happily single!
Here are some kuul tips on how to make the most of a single Valentine’s Day for Kuulpeeps like you.
- Treat yourself
Since it’s the day of celebrating love, who better to spoil than yourself? Yay self-love!!! Given the fact that you don’t have a significant other to spend money on this year, you can choose to either save that cash or spend it on yourself! Forget a couple’s massage, go and book yourself a massage alone at a spa and get pampered. Or, spend the night in your room, talk an unusual walk or just watch a movie. Who cares if you don’t have anyone to send you flowers or chocolate? If you really want them, get them for yourself! Focus on you and remind yourself of all the wonderful reasons why you love being single.
2.Spend time with people you love
Boyfriends and girlfriends aren’t the only people you can feel love for. You have many other people in your life who you have a different kind of love for. Just because they aren’t romantic relationships doesn’t mean they don’t also deserve to be celebrated on the day of love. You can still do ‘date’ things, like seeing a movie or going out to dinner, with people you aren’t dating. February 14th is a great day to remind people in your life that you love and care about them, whether the relationship is romantic, platonic or familial.
3.Hang out with other singles
The ETS drama studio is just a taxi away from you. Invite other friends to watch an act together. There is no better day to bond over being single than Valentine’s Day. No one will have any time to feel down about being alone on Valentine’s Day when you’re out with your friends. This year February 14th falls on a Friday, so if you want to, you can even hit up the bar/club/restaurant to have one special time of your life.
4. Don’t compare yourself to others
There are millions of other single people on Valentine’s Day, so stop focusing specifically on the people who happen to be in relationships. Remember that it’s just another day on the calendar and it doesn’t have to mean anything if you don’t want it to! Every other day of the year, being single doesn’t bother you all that much, so why let it bug you on this one day? It also helps to remember that just because someone is taken on Valentine’s Day, doesn’t mean they are necessarily in a happy, healthy relationship and you should always prefer singleness over that option.
Have a happy Valentine regardless of your relationship status !!
