
About 290 students of the Buipe Senior High School in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region have been asked to go home.
This follows the outbreak of fire that razed the entire girls’ dormitory on Monday, February 3, 2020.
Though information is in short supply, 3news reports that the fire started at about 7:30 am when the students were in class.

They have been given one week to return to school.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
Officers of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) deployed from Damongo to douse the fire came without a fire tender.
Already, investigations have been launched into the disaster.
The fire disaster is the second in Buipe this year, coming after an inferno engulfed three fuel tankers at the depot of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST) facility.
