Despite the trolling and backlash, Emelia Brobbey has dropped a new song and this time, she featured Wendy Shay.
In 2019, Emelia Brobbey, a known actress ventured into the music scene with a love song, Fa Me Kor which people heavily trolled. Ghanaians on social media and known celebrities mocked the actress for what they called a “horrible song”.
Emelia took all these criticisms calmly and admitted that maybe, she did need help with the whole music thing. Some artistes reached out and over the weeks, we saw videos on social media that informed us that she was working with Bullet, Wendy Shay’s Manager and Prince Bright of the Buk Bak fame.
We have been curious about what she would churn out and…we didn’t have to wait for long! Just this morning, the actress turned singer announced a new single featuring Wendy Shay.
The song….another love song…titled Odo Electric was produced by MOG and came with a music video directed by McWillies for FlashBack Media.
We have to admit, Odo electric is definitely an improvement from the work done on Fa Me Kor. We definitely wouldn’t call it a masterpiece but…it is not trash either. The vocals that made most Ghanaians cringe is a bit more bearable now (God bless a fine-tuned autotune) and even though the Wendy Shay feature almost highlights the fact that EB’s voice is ermm quite basic, this song can easily and probably be a hot song.
It may even top charts.
Don’t fight us but the song is 100% the kind of commercial music in Ghana that easily takes over the airwaves. Her lyrics are not complex so you know everyone will be singing along after the first listen.
Voice aside, the song is definitely a banger and… don’t be surprised when you hear it EVERYWHERE!
