The Food and Drugs Authority has threatened to prosecute food entrepreneurs who advertise their products online without going through the right permitting processes.

According to the authority, it is illegal for an individual or a group of people to start running a food business without obtaining the required permits from their outfit such as the Food Hygiene Permits.

In a statement that was released by the FDA, the authority warned that “operators of Food Service Establishments including contract caterers are reminded to regularize their activities with the Food and Drugs Authority in accordance with Section 130 of the Public Health Act 2012, Act 851.”

A quote of the section read that “a person shall not manufacture for sale, sell, supply or store products regulated under this part except in premises registered for that purpose under this part.”
