Tis the season for giving and for this year there is an extra reason for people to give.
The Year of Return is creating a platform for a lot of people in the diaspora with Ghanaian and/or African roots to give back to the motherland.
It is in the spirit of paying it forward that Ghanaian water polo player who is based in the United States, Asante Sefa-Boakye gave back to the Ghana Swimming Association (GSA).
The GSA is the official governing body responsible for the development and promotion of swimming in Ghana. The Associations functions include developing, promoting, popularizing and controlling the swimming sport and any other related matters to it throughout Ghana. It organizes regional and national tournament in various swimming disciplines, including water polo.
Asante, who according to his Facebook profile, is currently the Water Polo coach at Coronado High School in Coronado, California, presented 30 water polo balls to the GSA yesterday.
The presentation was held at the Accra Sports Stadium and Theophilus Wilson Edzie, the President of the Association received the donation on behalf of the Association.
After the presentation, Asante held a water polo training session with young people in Awutu.
Thanks, Asante Sefa-Boakye for the kind gesture.
