It’s the birthday of ‘The Bison’ Michael Essien!
The Chelsea legend turns 37 today and the official English Twitter account of La Liga wished Essien a happy 37th birthday in pidgin and Twi.
“We dey wish former Real Madrid and Black Stars midfielder Michael Essien afihyia pa as he turns 37 today,” the La Liga tweeted.

Essien reunited with hi favourite manager Jose Mourinho in Real Madrid in 2012. He was by Los Blancos signed on a season-long loan on transfer deadline day in 2012.
Essien currently plays for Sabail FK in Azerbaijan where he is also the club’s assistant U-19 head coach.
