It’s Ghana to the world agenda at the GRAMMY’s.

Burna Boy has been getting all the love for his nomination in the category of world music album.

Shatta Wale also laid claim to a GRAMMYs nomination, however, it looks like the GRAMMY rules may not give him that right.

However, one other previously unreported nomination we are excited about is that of Blackway.

Blackway, who is officially known as Yaw Sintim-Misa, is an amazing rapper and the son of the Ghanaian comedian, Kwaku Sintim-Misa.

Blackway collaborated with Black Caviar to create the now Gold-certified song “What’s Up Danger” for the animation movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

The song was the first on the official soundtrack of the animation movie.

… and now that soundtrack is has been nominated for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media.

Aside from Blackway’s contribution, the film’s soundtrack also boasted cuts from several notable names in hip-hop. Those artists included Post Malone, Vince Staples, Blackway and Black Caviar, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Ty Dolla Sign, and Jaden Smith.

Into the Spider-Verse will face some heavy competition in this category. It will go up against The Lion King, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Rocketman, and A Star is Born.

Previously, Into the Spider-Verse won both the Golden Globe and Annie Award for Best Animated Feature. Back in March, the film received an Outstanding Soundtrack/Compilation nod at the NAACP Image Awards. “Sunflower” was also recently nominated for Choice R&B/Hip-Hop Song at this summer’s Teen Choice Awards ceremony.

We really hope, Blackway wins this for the culture.
