The management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has extended the mid-semester break of Senior High School students from 12th November to 15th November 2019.
This announcement was made in a statement signed by the Head of Public Relations Unit, Cassandra Twum Ampofo.
The extension was a request from the leadership of the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS).
According to the GES, the extension is to provide an opportunity for the schools to prepare their facilities before students return.
Students are, however, expected to return over the weekend to ensure that full academic work resumes on Monday 18th November 2019.
The GES further stated that the extension only applies to SHS 1 and 2 students on the Gold Track who were supposed to return to school on 12th November.
SHS 3 students are however exempted from this directive and will have to return to school as scheduled.
