EXPLAINER: Here’s Why The President “Rushed” To The Nyaho Medical Center

President Akufo-Addo

Today, the Jubilee House has had to calm nerves because a piece of fake news went viral about the well being of President Akufo-Addo.

The circumstances surrounding the President’s visit to Nyaho Medical Center left a lot of Ghanaians worrying about the president’s health when there was actually no cause of alarm.

In the video, three presidential vehicles with one decorated with the Ghana flag and the country’s coat of arm can be seen making their way into the health facility which is located in the Airport Residential Area.

Security personnel including Police dispatch riders can be seen around the facility providing the necessary security for the president.

With those facts, some added the narration that the president was rushed to the Nyaho Medical Center to receive medical care.

However, there is not an iota of truth in all of the rumours that are being sent around.

Actually, the President, who is currently in Niamey, capital of Niger, to participate in the ECOWAS Extraordinary Session on Guinea Bissau, was not rushed to the hospital for medical attention and he’s obviously not on admission there.

However, the President, after commissioning the Ga-East District Hospital, in Kwabenya, en route to Jubilee House, went to the Nyaho Clinic to visit Mr Tommy Amematekpor, a stalwart of the NPP, who is on admission at the Clinic.

According to the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, this incident occurred yesterday (Wednesday, 6th November).
