The Ministry of Communications and the National Cyber Security Centre have launched the Cybercrime/cybersecurity incident reporting platform.
This is part of governments effort to fight cybercrime which also includes cyberbullying and cyberharassment.
Victims of cybercrime are encouraged to report the said incidents either via WhatsApp to 050160311, email: firstname.lastname@example.org, SMS or call 292, fill an online form at www.cybersecurity.gov.gh/report and/or download the NCSC Ghana mobile App.
This initiative with support from the Bank of Ghana, Data Protection Commission, the Ghana Police Service and others is aimed at ensuring that the cyberspace is safe for all.
This is the same objective that Kuulpeeps.com has been promoting for a couple of months now.
Last August, Kuulpeeps.com launched a CSR anti-cyberbullying campaign called ScreenShot that aimed to educate Ghanaians and empower victims of cyberbullying.
In this concerted effort from the government to fight cybercrime, cyberbullying is not the main focus as opposed to breaches of technology and data theft, however, anti-cyberbullying is a sub aim.
