The long list of nominees for the 2020 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has been revealed and as usual, it will spark some debate because of some of the artistes who have been nominated.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a museum and hall of fame located in Cleveland, Ohio, that documents the history of rock music and the artists, producers, engineers, and other notable figures who have influenced its development.
This year’s nominations are out and it includes the rapper Notorious B.I.G and the singer, Whitney Houston.
Notorious B.I.G. is nominated in his first year of eligibility (artists are eligible for entry 25 years after the release of their debut album) and joins fellow first-time nominees Whitney Houston, Motörhead, Soundgarden, T. Rex, Dave Matthews Band, Thin Lizzy, the Doobie Brothers, and Pat Benatar.
Joining them on the long list are former nominees Nine Inch Nails, MC5, Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, Rufus with Chaka Khan, Todd Rundgren, and Judas Priest. Fans can vote online for who they think should be inducted ahead of the announcement in January.
The artists inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2019 were Radiohead, The Cure, Janet Jackson, Roxy Music, Stevie Nicks, Def Leppard, and The Zombies.
