Yesterday, Sarkodie made history and we can’t stop shouting Ghana to the world on top of our lungs!!
The ‘Saara’ hitmaker won the award for Best International Flow at the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards which was held on October 5, 2019, at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Georgia, United States.

As this is a new category created by the BET, it makes Sarkodie the first musician to ever win this award.
Sarkodie beat stiff competition from the likes of Falz (Nigeria), Nasty C (South Africa) to win the award.
In his acceptance speech, Sarkodie was grateful to God and dedicated the award to his daughter, Titi. He also used the opportunity to promote the Year of Return. He encouraged people all over the world to visit Ghana this year.
“I think Africa has always had it and it is about that time. This year is the Year of Return and I will urge each and every one of you here to take a trip back home,” the rapper said.

Back at home, M.anifest took Twitter to congratulate Sarkodie for the amazing win.
M.anifest and Sarkodie have been pitched against each other as rivals several times. This even fueled a beef between the two back in 2016.
However, with Sarkodie putting Ghana on the map with his BET win, M.anifest sent a congratulatory message to him.
Congrats my g @sarkodie 🏆✨💥
