BBC Radio 1Xtra’s live event in Birmingham has been abandoned after a man suffered a slash wound during an incident backstage.
The 1Xtra Live show at the Arena Birmingham was due to include performances from Aitch, French Montana, Ms Banks and headliner Wizkid.
West Midlands Police said the injured man was helped on-site and did not go to the hospital.
The BBC said it was sorry to call the event off but safety was a priority.
In a statement, the BBC added: “We are upset and saddened that something like this should happen to a guest at one of our events and we remain in close contact and continue to offer our full support.”
A spokesperson would not comment on the identity of the injured man.
West Midlands Police said it was appealing for information following the alleged assault, which it said happened at around 22:00 BST on Saturday.
