George Afriyie Concedes Defeat, Kurt Okraku Is GFA President-Elect

After two competitive rounds of voting, GFA presidential candidate, George Afriyie has conceded defeat.

After round one, Kurt Okraku had 44 votes, George Afriyie had 40 votes, Nana Yaw Amponsah had 27 votes. Fred Pappoe had 6 votes and Amanda Clinton had 0 votes.

The election went into the second round after none of the candidates obtained 50%+1 of the vote.

In round two, Kurt Okraku had an additional 15 votes giving him a total of 59 votes.

George Afriyie had an additional 3 votes which gave him a total of 43 votes forcing the election to a third round.

However, before the start of the third round of the election, George Afriyie conceded defeat, making Kurt Okraku the president-elect of the GFA.

However, the election is still going for the third round with delegates expected to unanimously endorse Kurt Okraku.
