A lot of people were affected by the collapse of a number of banks in the country. The banks that collapsed include; Capital Bank, UT Bank, Beige Bank, Sovereign Bank, The Construction Bank, uniBank and The Royal Bank.

Many Ghanaians who worked in these banks before their collapse had to be laid off. This rendered most of them jobless.
