The Ghana Institute Of Journalism To Climax It’s 60th Anniversary Celebrations This Week


Dr Kwame Nkrumah 60 years ago established the Ghana Institute of Journalism(GIJ) to train professionals for the media landscape, over the years the institute has seen some tremendous change of infrastructure and witnessed the best coming out of the Institute. To mark this year’s 60th anniversary, the Governing Council and Management of The Ghana Institute of Journalism are inviting you to participate in activities lined up to climax their 60th Anniversary Celebrations.

On Wednesday the 16th of October, there will be a grand durbar at the institute’s new campus located at North Dzorwulu where staff, students, alumni, stakeholders, chiefs and queen mothers will gather to celebrate the phenomenal success stories of the institute.

Guest Of Honor for the event is the Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Minister Of Communication

This will shortly be followed by loads of entertainment activities as well as sales and exhibitions.

On Saturday the 19th of October, there will be a mega dinner and gala night at the Round Pavilion in trade fair where musicians such as Amandzeba and Okyeame Kwame as well as the National Police Band will treat you to great tunes amidst lots to eat and drink.

Tickets for the dinner and gala night are on sale at the Institutes’ Reception and the SRC Office, Regular- GH₵100  VIP -GH₵ 300  and  VVIP – GH₵500.
