#SexForGrades: Students From The Political Science Department Defend Their Lecturer, Prof Gyampo


Following the BBC Africa Exposé on lecturers in prestigious African Universities who demand sex from students in return for better grades, a group of Political Science students have formed a movement to stand behind Professor Ransford Gyampo, one of the University of Ghana lecturers who was implicated in the exposé.

A Whatsapp link is currently circulating on-campus groups, asking anyone who believes that Professor Gyampo did nothing wrong to join the group.

Most of them are arguing that they see no reason why a lecturer cannot date a postgraduate student or tell a student they want to marry them.

At the moment, we are waiting for the full video from BBC to ascertain how true these allegations are.

Professor Gyampo has come out to deny all the allegations formed against him and GrapicOnline reported that he may sue the BBC.
