Jonathan Alua And Others Reportedly Arrested As Police Fire Tear Gas And Gun Shots


Today, law students took to the streets to protest a high number of students who fail to pass the Ghana School of Law entrance exams.

The protest started peacefully from the main campus of the Ghana School of Law – Makola.

However, their protest march came to an abrupt end when they attempted to present their petition to the president at the Jubilee House.

They were met with resistance from police officers, who claimed the demonstrating students had no permission to enter the presidency.

This reportedly resulted in the police firing tear gas and gunshots.

According to reports, about 10 of the protestors have been arrested including Jonathan Alua the President of the Ghana School of Law Students’ Representative Council.
