It seems Menzgold customers will finally breathe a sigh of relief soon.
That’s because Nana Appiah Mensah has secured another key court victory in his ongoing case in Dubai.
It would be recalled that the CEO of the embattled gold dealership, Menzgold was arrested in Dubai when he visited the country to redeem some $39 million owed him by Horizon Royal Diamond DMCC.
However, the Dubai based firm alleged that Nana Appiah Mensah was part of an earlier fraud that the company had experienced.
However, a Dubai court cleared Nana Appiah Mensah of all accusations of fraud and asked Horizon Royal Diamond DMCC to pay the money owed to Nana Appiah Mensah.
Horizon Royal Diamond DMCC then appealed the judgement of the court.
However, according to Nana Appiah Mensah, a superior court in Dubai has thrown out the appeal and that the earlier judgement still stands.
However, that is not an end to Nana Appiah Mensah’s legal troubles.
He is currently out on bail facing 61 charges.
The charges include money laundering, unlawful deposit-taking, sale of minerals without a license and defrauding by false pretence.
It was previously seven before being amended to 13 charges. It now stands at 61 charges.
The case has been adjourned to October 23.
