Doha 2019: Jospeh Amoah Fails To Qualify For The Semis Of The Men’s 100m

The 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships kicked off today in Doha Qatar.

However, Team Ghana did not get a good start in Doha as sprinter Joseph Amoah failed to qualify for the men’s 100m semi-finals.

Joseph Amoah finished sixth with a time of 10.36 seconds in 3. The time of 10.36 seconds was lower that his personal best of 10.01 seconds which he made in June 2019.

In explaining why he was unable to qualify, Joseph Amoah said: “I knew the first part of my race was the bad part. I’ve been working on it since I got back from the African Games. I just wanted to perfect that side but I’ve been battling injuries too.”

With Amoah out of the Championships, Team Ghana now has two set of teams; the 4×100 men relay team which Joseph Amoah is a part of and the 4×100 women’s relay team.
