If you didn’t know, Dr Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first president’s birthday was on Saturday, and because he played such an important role in Ghana’s history, his birthday is also considered a memorial day.
Trigmatic held a concert on Saturday at Alliance Francaise in memory of Dr Kwame Nkrumah and if you have ever been to his concert, you know how entertaining it can be!
The music is always authentic and original and the live performances are extremely good!!!
The important thing is, even though it was a day for honouring Dr Kwme Nkrumah, Trigmatic honoured another legend… Ebo Taylor.

Ebo Taylor played an important role in the history of Ghana’s music. He is a Guitarist, producer, composer and more who took Ghana’s highlife and Afrobeats music beyond the Ghanaian borders like no one has ever done!
He’s been sampled by lots of international acts including Usher who sampled one of Ebo Taylor’s songs, ‘Heaven’ for his own song, ‘She Don’t Know.’
He has about 10 albums to his name and has collaborations with the legendary Fela Kuti as well.
Ebo Taylor was instrumental to the growth of the unique Ghanaian sound and Trigmatic honouring him was such an iconic moment!!!

He presented a plaque to him and even joined him to sing one of the songs, “Palava” before Ebo Taylor’s son took over and performed the song like a true son of a legend.
At 83, Ebo Taylor still got it!
