With the unexpected rains these days, it’s easy to get caught in one and find yourself nursing a cold the next few days.
Colds are the worst! Everyone’s looking at you like they never sneeze, everyone avoids you because no one wants to catch a cold too and the headaches and fatigue are just too much to handle!
Lucky for you, having something as basic as honey can help make your cold go away.
And the best part is, it isn’t a pill you have to swallow!
You can eat a spoonful or two of honey before bed, any time you feel like you might be getting a cold. It is the fastest and easiest way of preventing the cold from descending on you, full force!
If it’s too late and you already have a cold, get some onions and honey! Cut a whole onion into slices and then, put the slices with honey and a little bit of sugar in a bowl. Soak the mixture overnight and the next day, scoop some and eat (one or two tablespoon fulls). You can chew the onions if you want or…just scoop the honey instead. Add some garlic if you want!
If that’s too much for you, just get a glass of warm water, add a spoon of honey and drink every morning. It will help soothe your hurting throat and make you feel better quickly.
Or you can try a yummy honey lemon drink! Take 2 tablespoons of honey with 1 spoon of lemon juice. Add enough of hot water so your mug gets filled to the top. Stir the mixture and once it’s properly mixed, just sit back and enjoy.
Honey is perfect for treating colds because it contains antioxidants, antibacterial and antimicrobial properties which help us fight against colds and its symptoms. Honey also helps boost the immune system, which helps us recover faster and helps reduce the chances of getting more colds in future.
