The pain may go away, but the scars left behind can affect one’s self-confidence.
People who have suffered burns and other body mutilating injuries sometimes experience social ridicule for how they look.
Sadly, most Ghanaians, especially those in the north who have small disposable income cannot afford the kind of plastic/reconstructive surgery they need.
That is why the Ghana Health Service through the Upper East Regional Hospital has teamed up with Restore Foundation to carry out free plastic/reconstructive surgeries in the region.
Starting October 13 to the 18th, doctors in the hospital will be carrying out these life-saving and equally confidence-boosting surgeries for patients who need it the most but cannot afford.
In a letter signed by Dr Patrick Atobrah, the Medical Director of the regional hospital in Bolgatanga, “interested persons who have conditions for plastic/reconstructive surgeries are to visit consulting rooms 7 or 8 from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm each day from Monday to Friday to be booked for surgery.”
The deadline to book the free surgery is Friday, October 4.

Pass this on, someone you know might need this.
