Student and staff of Nkwatia Senior High School will start answering nature’s call with some level of dignity.
Most people who have attended senior high school in Ghana can attest to the fact that places of convenience are actually not that convenient.
Some are in bad shape, it overflows and it makes sense for students to do their business in a polythene bag.
That situation was not that different for Nkwatia Senior High School that’s why the US Embassy in Ghana supported them to construct a toilet facility.
The U.S. Embassy in Accra, through the Ambassadors Special Self-Help Program, supported the school with $10,000 to construct a toilet facility to meet the sanitation needs of a growing number of students.
Last week, the Management Counselor at the US Embassy, Greg Morrison commissioned the facility.
The Ambassador’s Special Self-Help Program provides assistance to small, community-led projects that promise to have an immediate impact.
The project must be initiated by the community and should benefit the community by increasing income or improving living conditions.
