In an attempt to ensure total security in the country, the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Armed Forces have joined forces to undertake special operations across the country.

According to the Ghana Police Service, they are intensifying the war against crime by taking the fight to the doorsteps of the criminals.

In order to achieve this, they have employed preventive measures which include “cordon and search, swoops, intelligence led operations among others.”

In the operation carried out by the police and military on Thursday, September 12, 2019, at Budumburam, near Kasoa in the Central Region, a total of 141 suspects including 15 females were arrested and sent to the headquarters of the Ghana Police Service for screening.

“Those found culpable shall be taken through the legal process,” the police stated.

“This special exercise shall be replicated nationwide. The public are therefore entreated to provide vital information to assist the Police on fighting crime,” the Ghana Police Service added.
