The citric acid in lemon and lime juice is a strong antioxidant that will dramatically slow the browning process. Simply squeezing a small amount of fresh citrus juice over your avocado will keep the avocado from browning for at least a day.

Sprinkle some salt or even sugar on a lemon half and move it back and forth to remove dead or discoloured skin. Doing this once a week can go a long way to help your skin and is more affordable as compared to other chemical exfoliants.

Whether its that onion smell that won’t leave your palms or that nasty smell in your room, the rind of the lemon and even the juice itself will do the trick. Just leave the rinds at one corner of your room and within a few minutes, your room will start smelling fresher. You can even make your own air refresher by combining a little lime juice with water. Add a little baking soda to the mix to absorb odours as you fill your space with the citrus scent.

Mix 1/2 cup lemon juice (or sliced lemons) with one gallon of very hot water and soak the clothes in the solution. Use the lemon as a cleaning tool and work it in. If the stains are bad, let it sit overnight before scrubbing the stains.

Repel mosquitoes and ants

Mosquitoes and ants hate the smell of lemon and orange peels. Rubbing citrus peels on your skin or grating peels around your porch, patio, or campsite can help repel mosquitoes.

Rubbing lemon across your face reduces oil (sebum) due to the drying effects of citric acid. It also has antiseptic qualities, which may kill bacteria that lead to acne. It also reduces redness and inflammation that may help treat inflammatory acne as well as leftover scars. Simply slice open a lemon and rub it across your face. Or you can add a few drops of honey to a lemon half before applying it directly to the area where you have blackheads.

Kills weeds

Cover weeds in the juice and they’ll shrivel away within a few days. Just be careful because lemon juice will actually kill any plant, so make sure you’re not accidentally spraying your flowers or lawn.
