Today, the world is marking Suicide Prevention Day with rather shocking statistics from the World Health Organization.
It is said that every 40 seconds, someone somewhere in the world commits suicide.
This brings to the fore the sad situation we face as a human race.
In Ghana, there are very limited spaces for mental health.
Most people can no longer speak up and share their emotions even in places that were traditionally supposed to be safe zones – churches, community groups, school.
However, recently, these safe spaces are no longer performing these functions in the best possible way.
Celebrities, husbands, wives, students are all becoming victims of suicide.
