BMW recently introduced its limited 2020 M4 Edition M Heritage Coupes, aptly commemorating the automotive manufacturer M GmbH’s history that first began in 1972. Limited to just 750 Coupes globally, the edition will arrive in three instantly recognizable colours, including Laguna Seca Blue, Velvet Blue, and Imola Red II.
The new editions include a carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CRFP) roof which employs the offset decorative stripe in the three M colours. Other details include forged 20-inch BMW M light-alloy wheels finished in Orbit Grey with 265/30R20 front and 285/40R20 rear non-run flat finished off with mixed performance tires.
The U.S.-specific version features colour-coordinated interiors, utilizing full-Merino Leather M Sport seats in a Silverstone/Black leather with turquoise stitching for Laguna Seca Blue-colored cars, Silverstone/Black leather with blue contrast stitching for Velvet Blue-colored cars, and Red/Black leather with red contrast stitching for cars donning Imola Red II paint. The carbon trim and door sills don the special “Edition ///M Heritage” logo as well as a “1/750” to designate the model’s number. The trim equally employs the three BMW M colours as part of the weave, further honing in on its unique visual aesthetic. More logos are embroidered atop the seat headrests.

Performance-wise, the new Heritage edition is based on the M4 Competition Package Coupes, pushing out a menacing 444 brake horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque, allowing the automotive to volt from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds, with n electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph. The Competition Package Adaptive M Suspension has been further enhanced to improve performance and handling, featuring new springs, shocks, and anti-roll bars along with reconfigured Comfort, Sport, and Sport+ driving modes. The standard M4’s Active M Differential and DSC Dynamic Stability Control have also been enhanced to match the Competition Package-equipped cars.
