A 51-year-old Ghanaian trader, Comfort Nutsugah, has reinforced the narrative that it is never too late for one to pursue their dreams after she enrolled to study General Arts at the Keta High Technical School in the Volta Region.
Comfort Nutsugan, took advantage of the Ghana government’s Free Senior High School Policy to further her education and has become an inspiration for young girls.
The 51-year-old mother of six sells used clothing to provide for herself and family.
Comfort Nutsugah, who is a first-year student at the Keta High Technical School and part of the Gold Track revealed to Ghana News Agency that she returned to school at Kopeyia Bloomfield Basic School in the Ketu South Municipality and completed in 2018.
She disclosed that she sat for the Basic Education Certification Examination (BECE) with her firstborn.
”I remember I sat for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) with my fifth born and had it not been for the Free SHS, I wouldn’t have continued my education to this level,” she said. Comfort Nutsugah, praised President Akufo-Addo for implementing the Policy while calling on all stakeholders to guarantee the success of the programme. Despite sitting in class with pupils, the age of her children, that has not been a hurdle in any way and she indicates that she does not find it uncomfortable. Rather, she enjoys the class and would be transferring some of her life experiences to her mates.
