The Power Distribution Services (PDS) Ghana Limited has been exonerated following a 30-day investigation by the government, 3news reports.

The contract to take over the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) was suspended after the government detected anomalies with the contract signed.
However, ECG and PDS both agreed on some modalities to ensure that there were no disruptions in power supply and service delivery in the country during the suspension.
As part of the modalities, both companies agreed to allow PDS to carry on with “all activities related to electricity retail sale.”

PDS’s contract with the government was suspended following the detection of fundamental and material breaches of PDS Obligation in the provision of Payment Securities (Deman Guarantees) for the transaction which was discovered upon further due diligence.
