Nigerians on Twitter are campaigning for the boycott of South African companies in Nigeria.
This action is being taken after xenophobic attacks were carried out on Nigerians and their businesses in South Africa.
The attack on the Nigerians happened on Sunday, September 1, 2019, when a group of South Africans suspected to be Zulu hostel dwellers besieged Jules Street in Malvern – looted and burned shops and businesses belonging to the Nigerians.
After the attack on their fellow Nigerians in South Africa, some Nigerians took to Twitter to call for the boycott of South African owned companies – MTN, Shoprite and DSTV.
Here are some of the reactions of Nigerians on Twitter:
Boycott South African EVERYTHING.
Fuck Big Brother Naija.
What is happening to Nigerians is more important than a fucking show.
Stop watching that show.
Don’t shop at ShopRite.
Boycott them all.

Are all South African businesses in Nigeria .
Yes, but shutting them down will put a lot of Nigerians out of work .
In a country with over 23 percent Unemployment, that’s not the way to go.
Nigerians are still the ones working in the aforementioned places.

People are saying we should keep pampering DSTV and Shoprite and Multichoice because Nigerians are working there..
Lol, China didn’t think twice to ban Apple, same with Huawei in America etc. people are dying and you’re preaching pacifism🤦🏾♀️

I hate Glo. The network is messed up . But right now, I am a Nigerian. I am destroying my Mtn sim and buying Glo. While still at it, anybody that sees me in a Shoprite store again from today should stone me. As for DSTV, I will find an alternative. Useless ungrateful bunch.

I have ported my MTN SiM to 9mobile.
I’m not shopping at Shoprite anymore.
I was already tired of DSTV, so I’m done with them.
This is my stan to #Xenophobia.
If the FG like let them act, after all they never care about Herdsmen and Boko haram killing innocent lives.
