Yesterday, news broke of the death of the popular music artiste, DJ Arafat.

Dj Arafat is a well known Ivoirien artiste whose music has crossed borders, making him very popular in the Francophone community.

He is mostly known as being the pioneers of the Coupé-Decalé genre which is a fun danceable genre made up of great upbeat beats consisting mostly of drums.

Most of us have seen tributes from all the big artistes flowing in but some of us aren’t sure who he is.

One of the best ways to get familiar with an artiste is by listening to what made him great…his music.

Some of these songs, you have probably heard before and some too may be new but they are pretty good!

J.Martins ft DJ Arafat – Touching Body

We all know this song by J.Martins but what some of us have forgotten or didn’t know is that DJ Arafat was featured in the video.

DJ Arafat – Gboborlor

This song was quite popular and we know for a fact that it found it’s way into the Ghanaian music scene.

DJ Arafat – Moto Moto

This particular video became one of DJ Arafat’s first videos to get One million views in less than 24 hours.

Dosabado

He called this afro-decalé and dropped it about a year ago. It’s a serious song you need to listen to especially if you like to dance!!

Davido ft DJ Arafat

If you are a strong Davido fan, then you know this song he dropped in 2014 and featured DJ Arafat

Too bad that some of us weren’t familiar with him when he was alive but the best part is, his music lives on and you can still listen to them any time anywhere.
