After school especially Uni, most people are confused about the road to take towards their future while others seem to have that path figured out and actively trekking on it.

We bring to you an individual who seems to have figured that path out as he is pursuing the path of music.

Kuulpeeps: Hello

Kayd: Hi

Kuulpeeps: Tell us a little about yourself

Kayd: My birth name is Kwaku Dei-Kusi Ankomah but I’m mostly called by my stage name Kayd. I studied Real estate in KNUST and I actually just graduated. I’m a music lover well obviously (*laughs*) and a food lover. I can’t live without either. I’m not much of an attention seeker I just like to be in my zone and chill. I’d say I’m a realist and also I try as much possible to be real as I can in everything I do I do I’m human so I might slip up once everyone in a while

Kuulpeeps: When did you get involved in music?

Kayd: I started rapping when I was in form one way back in shs, in Botwe. I used to rap to the boys in my class and my dorm boys. They are the ones that actually encouraged me to start taking this seriously.

Kuulpeeps: What is your style of music?

Kayd: I would consider myself an afrobeats artist mixed with rap.

Kuulpeeps: What and who inspires you, like what gets your creative juices flowing?

Kayd: Mostly the beat. When I hear a beat it’s almost like it speaks to me and tells me what to do. Sometimes too it’s personal experiences. And also a lot of artistes inspire me like Kwesi Arthur, Mr Eazi, Sarkodie, J. Cole among others. I listen to a lot of people so I sometimes draw my inspiration from them

Kuulpeeps: Is ‘Asem’ your first Track?

Kayd: ‘Asem’ is my first song but I have been featured on like 2 songs before that; ‘oh Lord‘ with Koby Stay and ‘ano dey see you with Swagmonnie.

Kulpeeps: and how is the response so far?

Kayd: Oh the response has been good but it can still be better.

Kuulpeeps: Are your parents supportive?

Kayd: Not really, I know this is not what they want to see their son doing but it is what it is. My mum is more supportive than my dad though.

Kuulpeeps: Is making music lucrative? Is it pulling in money?

Kayd: oh yeah very. But I’m more focused on sharing my music with as many people as I can.

Kuulpeeps: Where do you hope to see yourself in 10 years?

Kayd: Probably at Coachella putting Ghana on the map.

Kuulpeeps: So tell us are you single or taken? We are very interested

Kayd: (laughs) Oh I’m single

Kuulpeeps: Are there any challenges that have impeded your progress ever since you started?

Kayd: Mostly with promotion, but we are still pushing. In general, I would say financial support cause tbh in this current industry you need money for everything. To pay for beats, photoshoots, promotion of sons and all.

Kuulpeeps: Is there any advice you have for us and those interested in music.

Kayd: My advice to other upcoming artist is that keep making good music and invest in yourselves because you are your biggest fun and also remember god all in you do.

Kuulpeeps: thank you for the interview, it was great having you.

Kayd: you are most welcome
