We love our poems especially when we can relate to it, but to have a poem that inspires us to be someone greater than who we are making us super proud and love it more.
Koo Kumi has been a great inspiration through his works a wordsmith with a unique and powerful voice.
Last year June 8, 2018 , Koo Kumi released his poem The Greatest Poem Ever a poem to honour The Greatest of All Time.
To honour the Greatest Boxer, Muhammad Ali. Thursday, 15 August 2019 he released the video for the poem.
The video visualises a clear detail of a young boxer going through all the pain in getting fit to be a great boxer.
The context being Ghana is juxtaposed by the voice eulogising the Great boxer Muhammad Ali.

We had an interview with the poet and this is what he had to say about the creative process of shooting the video.
“This is the most demanding video I’ve ever worked on with my team. We travelled to the Western Region to Ezile Bay. We spent 2 days on the road and we spent 2 days shooting in the Western Region. We moved to the Eastern Region and shot in Mampong Akuapem and on the Peduase Road. We pushed ourselves because the video demanded a lot of physical activities. I had to jog in the middle of the road while cars were still moving. We moved to Greater Accra, and shot at the Independence Square, Independence Arc, Jamestown Cafe, and in the coach Daniel boxing gym.”

Despite his mom’s passing, this didn’t stop him from pushing to make the video a success.
“We started shooting in September 2018 and Finished shooting in December 2018.
We had to stop working on the video because my Mum passed away.”
Koo Kumi puts much effort in his videos and here’s why.
“The video is to empower people to push themselves to become the greatest. Muhammad Ali was very inspirational and is still inspirational to black men and women around the world. I fell sick a day after we finished shooting because of the intensive training and professional coaching. My opponent is a trained boxer. I used to have muscle pains after every shoot.”
What every growing artist faces is no different from Koo Kumi.
“We wanted to go to all the then 10 Region but the money involved was too much.”
