Yesterday, the moment of truth came for our young brothers and sisters who sat for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
Already, at least 19 of the candidates are not expecting to be placed in any senior high school after WAEC cancelled their entire results because they smuggled mobile phones into the exam hall.

An additional 2,497 subject results have been withheld by WAEC pending the conclusion of investigations into examination malpractice.
The withheld subject results will either be released or cancelled as soon as the Council concludes its investigation.
This afternoon, the Ghana Education Service has also disclosed that with the results released, it has started with the computerized school selection and placement.
“All arrangements are being made to ensure that this year’s placement is successfully done,” a statement signed by Cassandra Twum Ampofo, Head of Public Relations at GES said.
