Unlike the other universities which have well established Traditional Halls of residence, UHAS has only hostel accommodation for its students of which first years or freshers are the priority. Check out some of the hostels in the University of Health and Allied Sciences

TRAFALGAR MEDICAL HOSTEL

It is so-called because this hostel is strictly for the accommodation of first-year medical students. Located on the premises of the Teaching Hospital, this hostel can accommodate about 115 students and has all the basic hostel facilities such as a kitchen, a gym, Wi-Fi, a reliable water system, a canteen, TV room etc. This hostel also accommodates some of the Clinical Students due to its proximity to the Teaching Hospital. It is known to be one of the best hostels on campus.

DAVE HOSTEL

Initially built to accommodate faculty from the Nursing training school and the School of hygiene, nurses and doctors at the Teaching Hospital, the Dave Hostel now houses students of the university who are mostly Medical Students. These blocks of the hostel can accommodate about 350 students and has all the basic hostel facilities such as a kitchen, a gym, Wi-Fi, a reliable water system, a mini-market, an eatery, a playing field, TV room etc. It can also boast of a stand by generator set which is used in situations of power outages. It is roughly 5 minutes from Trafalgar by taxi and about 30 minutes on foot. This hostel accommodates continuing students and a few freshers who might not get accommodation at either the Medical hostel or at Defiat hostel

DEFIAT HOSTEL

This hostel strictly accommodates freshers from the School of Nursing and Midwifery and the School of Allied Health Sciences. Located 30 minutes’ drive away from Trafalgar, the hostel has a capacity of over 400 and has all hostel facilities such as a kitchen, a reliable water system, a mini market, an eatery TV room etc.

SRC HOSTEL

This hostel accommodates continuing students and has a capacity of over 200. It is located about 45 minutes’ drive away from Trafalgar and has all hostel facilities such as a kitchen, Wi-Fi, a reliable water system, a TV room, etc.

MBMB HOSTEL

This hostel is located at the permanent campus and it accommodates only students from the School Of Basic and Biomedical Sciences. It has hostel facilities such as a kitchen, a gym, Wi-Fi, a reliable water system, a mini-market, an eatery, a playing field, etc.

EDINA HOSTEL

The Edina Hostel was recently added to the university hostels since the university’s student population is gradually increasing. It accommodated students from the School of Pharmacy last academic year and it is located close to the Ho stadium. It has hostel facilities such as a kitchen, a gym, Wi-Fi, a reliable water system, a mini-market, an eatery, a playing field etc.
