The FINA World Junior Swimming Championships 2019 took place in Hungary’s capital, Budapest from August 20th to 26th, 2019.
Ghana was represented by three young and energetic athletes: Zaira Forson, Kaya Forson and Kow A Jackson. The team was at the competition with their coach, Joachim Ofosuhene-Wise.
These young swimmers are being groomed for the future. They would be the ones representing Ghana at the Olympic Games and hopefully win Ghana some medals in that field.
Here’s how they performed at the swimming championship:
Kow A Jackson placed 3rd in Heat 2/13 of the 100metres freestyle Men.
With an entry time of 57.64, Kow ended his race with a new personal best in a time of 56.1.
Zaira Forson also finished her final race with a time of 2:20.23 in the Women 200 metres freestyle in Heat 2.
Kaya Forson also had a great tournament. She placed 2nd in the 200 metres Women Individual Medley Heat.
Kaya finished with a time of 2:24.86.
Congratulations to Kow, Zaira and Kaya!
