Yup, we are talking about the Missy Elliot we used to listen to when we were kids!
Before Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Meg The Stallion and all the other female rappers in the hip-hop game right now, there was Missy Elliot!!
She played a very important role in the music industry and we can confidently say she one way or the other, influenced most female rapper in Ghana and all over the world!! Sis thrived in the male-dominated field, gave us hits, and made a big impact into the music industry which is why finally, she’s being honoured with the MTV VMAs Video Vanguard Award
Today she dropped a 5 track EP called ICONOLOGY with a video to one of the songs, ‘Throw It Back’.
She surprised us when she announced it via a tweet yesterday: “Let’s #ThrowItBack to a time when music just felt good and made us want to dance!”
