VIDEO: Steve Harvey Gets Emotional After Visiting The Elmina And Cape Coast Slave Castles

American comedian and TV host, Steve Harvey and his family are in Ghana as part of the Year of Return to commemorate 400 years since the first recorded slave ship arrived in the United States of America.

The Harveys have been visiting the tourist sites in the country. They have been to the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum and the Elmina and Cape Coast castles.

At the slave castles in Elmina and Cape Coast, Steve Harvey learned a lot about what our ancestors went through during the dark times of slavery.

Touched by what he witnessed and learned, Harvey took to social media to express the pain he felt after visiting the slave castles.

“This was real pain I felt going back to Ghana’s slave castles… I could feel my ancestors on me… Powerful beyond words that I can explain,” Steve Harvey wrote.

He also admonished those who have not thought of returning “to go HOME for your ancestors.”

“Their strength is in each of us and we must honour their ultimate sacrifice in all that we do,” Steve Harvey added.
