At the age of 100, it comes off as a celebration of life, however to the friends and family who hold him, dear, the passing of MOBA Charles H. Bartels will still come off as a sharp pain ingrained in their hearts.
As one of the two celebrated centenarians of the Mfantsipim Old Boys Association (MOBA) the late Mr Bartels is one who is dear to the Mfantsipim Old Boys.
On 9th August 2019, his passing was announced to the MOBA Community.
In 2018, the USA branch of MOBA celebrated Charles H. Bartels and his fellow centenarian Mr Albion Mends Sr. when they both turned 100.
Mr Albion Mends Sr. of MOBA ’38 who resides in Warrensburg, Missouri turned 100 on August 18, 2018, and his classmate the late Mr Charles H. Bartels of MOBA’38 who was a resident of Rockville in Maryland (MD) also turned 100 on October 14, 2018.
A specially made ceremonial plaque that was presented to Mr Bartels last year read: “You are truly blessed. You have lived 100 wonderful years, 80 of those as a proud MOBA! You are an inspiration to all of us! Happy Birthday!! From MOBA-USA.”
