Maxwell Kwesi Mac-Ocloo popularly known by his peers and mates as “Shadow”, was born on the 23rd of July 1995 in Kotobabi a suburb of Accra.
The 9th of 10 children, Shadow began his educational journey at Martyrs of Uganda R/C Basic School in Mamprobi, Accra and went on to pursue general arts at St. Thomas Aquinas SHS.
He then had the opportunity to pursue a bachelor of fine arts degree at the University of Ghana Legon, but overlooked the prestigious name and considered his love for mathematics.
This forced him to turn it down at the eleventh hour to pursue a bachelor of science degree in statistics at the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani.
After going through a tedious 4-year program faced with various adversities, Shadow managed to complete his program with first-class honours and a GPA of 3.87 out of 4.00.
WOW!!!! That’s some next-level genius right there. When asked how he did it, he said all his hard work was with the help of God and by praying fervently; he owes all his success to God.
Shadow bagged two awards at the just-ended 4th congregation which included the best student from the school of sciences and the overall best students award.
We were wondering how he got the name shadow and he had this to say; “it was given to me by my brother because I told him I needed a nickname. So after going through a list of possible nicknames, he decided to give me Shadow because it fit me.”
In his valedictorian speech, he challenged his fellow graduates to always chase their dreams and to let determination, persistence, consistency, focus and hard work be the tools to succeed. He also added that no matter the class, grade point and struggles, with God, success will always be our portion.
To Shadow and all our graduates, we say a very big CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
Now go forth and conquer the world.
