This game is going to be a keenly contested but beautiful game to watch.

But, what would be the line up of these two managers? Kuulpeeps takes a look at how Frank Lampard and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would set up their respective teams on Sunday.

Let’s start with Chelsea.

Frank Lampard has a very difficult job to do as Chelsea’s manager this season, taking into consideration the transfer ban on the team, injuries (Callum Hudson-Odoi, Loftus-Cheek, Rudiger, Willian) and some senior and crucial members of the team like David Luiz leaving on the last day of the transfer window… Lampard has to really make some tough decisions as manager of Chelsea.

Regardless of all these problems that Lampard is faced with, he has a pretty good side that can compete for a top-four place this season… But let’s zone into the game against Manchester United on Sunday.

Looking at how Chelsea played in most of their preseason games, Lampard is likely to go with a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Ross Barkley playing as the number 10 and Giroud as the preferred striker over Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi. With Hazard gone, Pulisic would start on the left of Chelsea’s attack, Emerson, Zouma, Christensen and Azpilicueta would be Lampard’s preferred back four.

Manchester United had some fantastic players coming in during the transfer window. The likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Daniel James and Harry Maguire are in the team now. Manchester looks solid with these new signings.

Just like Chelsea, it’s also likely that Solskjaer would go with a 4-2-3-1 formation. The 4-2-3-1 has been Solskjaer’s preferred formation since joining the club and he also used it a lot during the preseason.

With Lukaku gone, Rashford would be Manchester United’s new number 9, with Martial, Mata and Lingard assisting him upfront. Paul Pogba would definitely start with Matic in midfield. Luke Shaw, Lindelof, Maguire and Wan-Bissaka will be Manchester United’s back four on Sunday.
