Black Stars first-choice goalkeeper, Richard Ofori has been named as the match-day captain of his club, Maritzburg United.

His appointment as the match-day captain means Richard will lead the team on the field of play.

The team also appointed Ofori’s teammate, Nazeer Allie as the club captain. According to the coach of the club, Eric Tinkler, Nazeer will play the role of representing the players to the management and him.

“Selecting a captain was always going to be difficult. Richard, a national team goalkeeper for Ghana, is definitely our first-choice goalkeeper, so it made sense to appoint Richard as our match-day captain,” the coach said.
