Look there’s a reason people call Beyoncé a Queen and… this is it.
If you ever doubted it, this album right here is it.
That’s why she’s queen.
The Gift album has pulled Beyoncé into the African music space in such a unique way! Not that Beyoncé wasn’t all over this place already… before any child learns to speak, they communicate with Beyoncé in the spirit lol
Beyoncé is a huge artiste, no doubt. She doesn’t need to try to penetrate into any space Cos she’s there already but, this is different.
Beyonce’s got Africa’s attention in a whole new way!!!
This goes beyond seeing her wear an African print or throw some popular African dance moves in her choreography. It’s gone beyond the mindblowing publicity that’s coming from our side of the world with the release of the album.
It’s about owning the space where her music goes! Becoming one with the people and identifying with them.
It’s gone beyond just about knowing her music and knowing who she is.
Beyonce took a couple of our artistes, featured them on her album and let them be themselves!!!
She made them flow on their own and it was beautiful! There really wasn’t anything they did that sounded weird or off to us except for the fact that they brought their A-game!!
It’s almost like she said do your thing and I’d watch and learn.
She allowed them to be themselves and that is all that MATTERS!!
Look at Shatta Wale’s Already. The song screams Shatta Wale! Almost sounds like he made the song and decided to feature Beyoncé and she had to study his style to keep up!! My Power, featuring South Africa’s Moonchild was heavily South African House music, the Burna Boy song was all Burna! Wizkid, Yemi Alade, Mr Eazi, even the song that Guilty Beatz produced sound for just Beyonce, “Find Your Way Back” is all very authentic!!!
Beyonce’s done what no Western artiste has really done for afrobeats and her brilliant self is going to establish herself as a proper Greatest Artiste Of her Time!
Beyonce is a Queen!
