BBC is offering a free 14-week Software Engineering training course for women.

The BBC Step Into Tech training course is the ideal opportunity for women wanting to move into a career in Software Engineering.  This in-depth course provides participants with the fundamental skills needed to kick start a career in the sector.

This course is ideal for anyone who has an interest in a career in Software Engineering but needs to learn the core skills first.

This 14-week programme will incorporate a full immersive week, followed by evening sessions covering front end and back end development, ending on a project delivery of your choice. The course will be delivered onsite at the BBC.  The curriculum will deliver the most up to date technologies, with practical applications, all of which will be underpinned by core personal development sessions for your success.

Curriculum:

Immersive week: An overview of the tech industry, understanding the fundamentals of computer science, developing problem-solving skills.

Front end – to include HTML, CSS, responsive design and an introduction to React

Back end – Introduction to cloud (AWS), databases and backend technologies

Project – Have the ability to apply learning to personally create a project application

There will be continued support throughout the course.
