In a night that was billed to celebrate the beauty of Ghanaian music, a rather ugly thing occurred.
Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale got involved in a fight which caused the VGMA to pause for almost 30 minutes before it started again with a beautiful performance from Samini.
The fight occurred after Stonebwoy was announced as the Reggae/Dancehall artiste of the year.
After the incident which involved tear gas, guns and a fight on the stage of VGMA, Shatta Wale quickly took to Twitter to send a cryptic message to Stonebwoy and his fans.
However, while receiving his award for Best Collaboration, Stonebwoy took the opportunity to address the incident that had occurred earlier.
Though Stonebwoy apologised for the unfortunate incident, he also went ahead and laid the blame on Shatta Wale and his entourage.
Stonebwoy said he’s seen the threats targeted at him made on social media and that anything could have happened last night.
“By their deeds, we shall see them,” Stonebwoy added.
It’s quite sad that we have two amazing talents fighting like this among themselves for a local award when we have a world of music to conquer and rule.
Time no dey like that, charley.
