The South African Football Association just paved the way for encouraging equality for men and women in football.
According to a tweet by Faith Mazibuko, a member of the executive council for Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, the female senior national team of South Africa (Bayana Bayana) will be paid the same match fees as the male senior national team (Bafana Bafana).

This decision taken by South Africa’s FA is a step in the right direction which other African nations who want to develop Women’s Football can follow.
The Bayana Bayana is one of the most competitive female national teams in Africa and this decision by the SAFA would go a long way to boost their competitiveness in Women’s Football in Africa and even the world.
