Shatta Wale Is Quitting Music, Says “The Reign Was Godly” In A Goodbye Message

Shatta Wale

What should have been a good night of music and maybe an occasional “did you vote?” moments was turned on its head.

Right from when the nominees of the category for Reggae/Dancehall artiste of the was rolled on the screen, the tension started building.

Shatta Wale had just entered the auditorium where the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards was being held and it was clear that it was either him or Stonebwoy who was going to win that award.

Then right after the nominees’ video ended Stonebwoy was announced as the winner of the Reggae Dancehall artiste of the year.

When he was on the stage to accept the award, it appeared that Shatta Wale was also approaching the stage, some say he was angry, however, he claims he was going on the stage to congratulate Stonebwoy.

Whichever the case might be, it led to a fight, guns were drawn, tear gas was fired and the show was paused for about 30 minutes.

Now, that incident has become a scar on the face of what should have been a beautiful night of music.

After sending lots of hot social media posts reacting to the incident, in one of such posts Shatta Wale said “If Ghana police don’t warn That boy about his trigger happy life erh ..we all go show gun for town cuz he can’t pull a gun while I didn’t …,” Shatta Wale has announced that he is retiring from music.

On his Facebook account, Shatta Wale announced that he was retiring from music to focus on his newly found love – real estate business.

“I have better things to do now than to record a song .. Shatta Wale is on a different level of life …Music was just a hobby I chose …,” he said.

“The story will be, they couldn’t STAND HIM NOR STOP HIM till he got into his REAL ESTATE BUSINESS !!!! 😂😂😂😂😂 I HAVE ENOUGH MONEY IN THIS BIZNESS THEY CALL MUSIC !!!,” he added.

He signed off his goodbye message by saying that “THE REIGN WAS GODLY !!!! Big up every SM fan …you tried !!! We tried !!!.”

Shatta Wale is undoubtedly one of the most electrifying musicians we have in this country and we just hope that this retirement will last for less than 24 hours.

Love him or hate him, Shatta Wale does put some character in the Ghanaian music industry and we’ll surely miss him if this retirement lasts for even a week.
