Award-winning dancehall musicians, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale are in court today after the police released them on bail last Monday.
The police are accusing the two musicians of causing public disturbance during the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
A brawl occurred last Saturday, during the awards show after Shatta Wale approached the stage where Stonebwoy was getting ready to deliver his acceptance speech after Stonebwoy was announced the winner of the Reggae/Dancehall category.
Stonebwoy, on the other hand, pulled out a gun when he saw Shatta Wale and his entourage approaching him on the stage.
This led to a scuffle which caused a near 30-minute halt in the transmission of the award show.
Later last Sunday, a day after the incident occurred, the two musicians and one Nii Amoo were arrested by the police and kept in police custody overnight.
Nii Amoo is accused by the police for using pepper spray during the scuffle.
All three were, however, released on bail pending a court appearance.
Now, we have received information that Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale are currently before a judge over last Saturday’s incident.
This court appearance comes after Shatta Wale released a Gospel song, praising God for saving his life.
